A few months ago, I left my job as a child welfare social worker to care for my mother-in-law. She suffers from Altzeimer's Disease. The purpose of this blog is to document our experience with caretaking for Alma while keeping friends and family up with the progression of this difficult disease.
Hi Lise, As I think of your sharing throughout your journey with Alma,it's apparent that services need to be initiated. I sense that there's a dearth of resources.
With the present limitations of support through agencies, it's great that you can carry on with this true ministry to Alma.

Hi Lise, The other day,my parish sponsored a presentation by Hospice of the Valley. I was very happy to hear that HOV supports caregivers of Alzheimer patients. This is their own project of love done throughout the community without financial support from insurance,government,etc. With full realization that this may be unique to Maricopa County, I was wondering if there's anything like that in Roanoke.
Anyway...just saying "Hi"...Jo and I love you and are very proud of you!!!Have a wonderful day...
